The simple design and antique copper finish give this shallow fire bowl a unique look.  Set on solid steel base with pretty embossed detailing this is a great looking practical garden fire pit.

To ensure you can obtain a great looking copper finish bowl without a huge price-tag the bowl itself is made from cast iron.  This means it will withstand years of cooling and heating, unlike some of the really cheap copper fire bowls made from thin steel.  The copper is added to the surface of the cast iron to give a great design at an attractive low price.

The overall dimensions are  30 x 30 x 22 inches making it a practical size, and weighing 39 pounds it will stay firmly rooted to the spot safely, yet still be easy enough to move around when you need.  This is a neat little package great for the patio or pool side.

Included is a wire mesh spark screen which is great to improve overall safety and preventing any embers scorching soft furnishings or tress overhead.

There is also a vinyl cover included.  However, do consider buying an additional cover, as generally those included with fire pits tend to be of lower quality than the accessories you may purchase separately.  It is okay, but perhaps not so great unless you are gentle with it, as the stitching is not quite so hard wearing as those sold separately.

As long as you look after this particular copper finish fire bowl well, and use it correctly there is no reason why its solid body and thick bowl would not last you many years to come.  With its great low price this is a fantastic buy for those not wishing to spend a fortune on their garden furniture, but still wanting a great quality item that will look fabulous in the yard.

The traditional chiminea look has just come down in price.   Made from solid cast iron with pretty wire mesh screening and embossed detailing, this is most definitely a great look outdoor fireplace.  One thing it is not, is big!  This is for those that want a small garden fire to add some ambiance but aren’t interested in hours of cutting logs.

More suited, due to its petite nature, to a smaller yard or patio this pretty little fire-place will add some atmosphere without taking up too much valuable room.

It is only 35 inches high and weighs around 30 lbs when assembled.  One thing we are pleased with is that assembly is pretty straightforward, and since it isn’t too heavy it is easy to manoever.  This is important as you will want to cover this particular fire pit to ensure it doesn’t become rain damaged.

The door slides easily to allow you access to the fire itself for adding more logs.  At the top is a rain guard so a sudden downpour shouldn’t flood your campfire too quickly.  Do be careful though as throwing a log on too haphazard can result in flames leaping upwards and it is easy to forget about the chimney, where those flames will fly too.

Outdoor fire pits can sometimes be a little on the large and permanent size for smaller gardens.  This is where some of the more modern looking outdoor fire place style ones come in.  Neat, practical and easy enough to store out of sight or pop in the trunk for a camping trip, fire pits and bowls like the Landmann 28925 are growing in popularity.

The spark guard is part of the design and look, offering a great view of the fire itself, but remaining mostly in place when it comes to stoking the fire or adding another log, as you open the pivoting door rather than removing the whole thing.

This is a particularly safe fire pit to be using when kids are around since it is completely self contained (of course it will get hot – it’s steel, but great to know small hands cannot get into the fire itself).

What most customer reviews (check them out via the links above) and ourselves like though is the “ball of fire” design itself.  It’s a little more complex than some fire bowls to put together since it is a globe, but the end result is a really modern piece of design and the fact that it seems to float after dark is simply magical.  Like I said fitting a globe together might be a little tricky (but nothing too hard so long as you take your time, and get all the parts out to start with).

The design by Landmann USA is one I am sure will be widely copied as it provides and economical and stylish solution to the problem of enjoying a fire safely in your back yard.  Plus its light enough to take camping too.  Having the bowl itself open to air underneath has the advantage of making it easy to light a fire, and keep it going.  A cooking grill might be nice but perhaps not quite so easy to incorporate into the design.

Okay, so you can see it looks like a pretty cool fire pit in bronze.  The basic design is a cheaper take on the Sojoe Fire Pits we love so much here.  But it is a whole lot more affordable priced at somewhere between $150 and $200.  You obviously do get a slightly less sturdy product.  But it looks good and for occasional use you should get a good few years out of it.  The makers are providing only a one year limited warranty so you know this might not be the best quality you can get, but for the money it’s worth a look.

Now as you might expect for the price of this outdoor fire pit, this isn’t actually made of bronze.  Frankly you’d probably be paying more than $150 just for delivery if it was so that’s no bad thing.  We’ve got another powder coated steel product, but it looks very bronze-like so if that’s in keeping with your garden decor great!

The overall dimensions make this relatively small, but still able to cope with some decent sized logs so allowing for easy fire management and not too much time with the chainsaw.  It’s 35 inches across and a little over 25 inches high.  An important point is that you do get a sturdy steel grate which is where all the weight and stress is taken so it will cope with your average garden fires.

There are various designs for the actual cut outs including palm trees and my favorite a classic diamond mesh pattern.  If you are okay about paying a little more there is a black version, but personally the bronze effect is a little more rustic which I like.

Customer reviews are overall good, with the Blue Rhino fire bowl getting an average four out of five stars.  You can read all the customer reviews via the links above.  The main negative comments are related to the fact that this isn’t really a bronze fire pit.  Now this may sound harsh but come on, bronze is going to cost you a whole lot more than this.  It is a little misleading that the product description includes the reference to a bronze fire bowl but really that is simply the color.  So long as you realise this in advance and are happy to be buying a steel based fire pit like most of the others on offer then this will not concern you.

Another low priced outdoor fire pit today – with the Landmann Big Sky Fire Pit Review.  These are some of the best selling fire tubs around.  Partly due to their relatively low price and the range of designs available, but mostly off the back of the Sojoe Fire Pits – whose style they slow closely resemble.

I have to say, if you want the heaviest steel and the most sturdy fire pit that is likely to last the longest you would go for the Sojoe over the Landmann Big Sky.  But, there is a massive price difference.  So if you like the styling but not the price of the Sojoe and are willing to look after your Big Sky fire pit properly you may well prefer to check theLandmann range out instead.

Landmann Big Sky Fire Bowl Details

This is a steel fire pit with a clay finish.  This offers it some protection from the elements but it can come off over time and you would be well advised to keep yours under cover during wet weather.  The look is great, very rustic and the cut out designs allow for great air circulation into the heart of the fire – giving a magical experience and a touch less effort in keeping the fire burning well.

Three steel legs prop the whole thing up, but the fire is placed low to the ground.  This is good if you want to be sure the fire is safe and unlikely to topple but makes this definitely a fire pit for hard heat resistant surfaces – not an option for a deck!

Included with the tub are an enamel cooking grate, a screen guard and poker.  Around the outside is a hand-rail for easy moving of the tub and a great place to rest weary feet for warming by the fire (though do be careful!).

All that for under $120 at the time of writing.  So what’s the catch?  Well there isn’t one really so long as you aren’t expecting a Sojoe!  The Landmann is a little over half the weight of its more expensive rival, which makes us think it is not quite a solid and unlikely to last quite as long.  But, for a budget buy it really is rather good!

Overall the general concensus is that the fire bowl is relatively easy to put together but that the fit is not always perfect, so may need a little adjustment.  People love the design, with the cut outs but do mention that rust can be an issue over time.  But for such a low price, a good few years of fun and flames in the garden is still a pretty good deal and is reflected in the fact that most customers rated the fire pit very well regardless of these issues.
